Doom

DOOM

There’s a comment to be made somewhere about the fact that there are almost as many movies based on video games in production as there are literary adaptations (not counting Jane Austen, who – like Tupac Shakur – continues to generate output from beyond the grave).

Your Famaly Stone

The Family Stone

"Human being" is more a verb than a noun. Each of us is unfinished, a work in progress, perhaps it would be most accurate to add the word 'yet' to all our assessments of ourselves and each other. (She) has not learned compassion… yet.

Jarhead

Match Point

Match Point

A poor Irish lad meets up with a particularly well-off British family and starts to date, and get heavily involved, with their daughter. But when he meets the American girlfriend of her brother, he’s smitten by her as well, and it isn’t long before he’s swapping bedsheets like they’re going out of style. What follows is the tale of a man caught between different worlds and his confusion, and ultimate decision, about what to do. A British Woody Allen movie ensues?

Yours Mine And Ours

YOURS, MINE AND OURS

What happens when a family of eleven merges with a family of nine? Find out in this rollicking comedy starring Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda. Any project involving this many child actors must have been a director's nightmare, but veteran director Melville Shavelson managed to pull it off somehow. Released in 1968, the wide success of Yours, Mine and Ours may well have prompted the airing of the first episode of "The Brady Bunch" the following year.
